The Canadian Evaluation Society page
is one of the best-organized and most active national evaluation associations in the world. Serving 11 regional chapters across Canada and a membership of 2,000 professional evaluators in the public-, private- and non-profit sectors, CES publishes a peer-reviewed journal, the Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation and a weekly online bulletin of news and jobs, organizes an annual national conference (the next one will be in Edmonton, May 1-4, 2011), and maintains a rich database of grey literature produced by its members (including reports, conference papers and presentations, and more). In recent years, the Society has done much work on establishing standards for the evaluation profession in Canada, and now offers a program for professionals to obtain the Credentialed Evaluator (CE) designation.

Assessing the Impact Investing Initiative of the Rockefeller Foundation
E.T. Jackson and Associates is undertaking a strategic assessment of the Rockefeller Foundation’s five-year Impact Investing Initiative. Impact investors seek to create social or environmental value while also generating financial return. Managed by the Foundation’s Evaluation Office, this assessment includes an analysis of the evolution of the field of impact investing over the past five years as well as an evaluation of the effectiveness, influence and sustainability of the impact investing work. In the course of the study, the evaluation team will engage with a selection of grantees and partners of the Initiative and will carry out fieldwork in India, Kenya, Mexico and the United States. Led by Dr. Ted Jackson, the firm’s President, the team also includes Senior Associates Yusuf Kassam and Allan Maslove, Associates Karim Harji and Sarah Farina, Researcher Alana Glenwright and Administrator Jennifer De Bien.
