Recognizing Leadership and InnovationIn spite of the fast pace and dynamic nature of the work we do, our company is fully aware of the high quality of leadership and innovation produced every day by our staff on three continents. Recently, others have recognized that excellence too:
Sulley GaribaDr. Sulley Gariba, long-time Jackson and Associates partner and representative in West Africa, was recently appointed to advise the President of Ghana on the design and implementation of a sustainable development fund for the Savannah region of Ghana. Denise BeaulieuFollowing studies at Laval University, Denise Beaulieu was awarded, in fall 2009, her Ph.D in management. Dr. Beaulieu’s thesis focused on the processes and results associated with knowledge management by civil society organizations in Ghana. Jonathan LangdonSenior Associate Jon Langdon was recently appointed Assistant Professor in development studies at St. Frances Xavier University. His edited book, Indigenous Knowledges, Development and Education, was published in 2009. Katherine GrahamUpon her retirement in mid-2009 from the post of Dean of the Faculty of Public Affairs at Carleton University, Professor Katherine Graham was honoured with the establishment of the Katherine Graham Annual Lecture on Aboriginal Policy at Carleton University. Allan MasloveThe former Dean of the Faculty of Public Affairs at Carleton University, Professor Allan Maslove edited, in 2009, the 30th edition of How Ottawa Spends, the annual policy review of the University’s School of Public Policy and Administration. Ted Jackson won two awards in 2007: the CES Contribution to Evaluation Award of the Canadian Evaluation Society, and a Faculty of Public Affairs Teaching Award at Carleton University. That year he was also named Associate Dean (Research and Graduate Affairs) in the Faculty of Public Affairs at Carleton.
Richard MarquardtRichard Marquardt recently completed his PhD in the School of Public Policy and Administration at Carleton. Dr. Marquardt is based in Ottawa, where he teaches and consults. Paul Turcot and Kate McLarenPaul Turcot and Kate McLaren have been certified as SAS2 Trainers; they conduct workshops for NGO and government policy-makers in Social Analysis Systems tools and applications, and have been applying SAS methods to their development evaluations. They presented at the international SAS2 conference at Carleton University supported by IDRC in late 2008.
